Bishop Jones attended Trenton Public Schools and has pursued further training at Mercer County College, Middlesex College, Rider University and Moody Bible Institute.
Bishop Jones joined the U.S. Navy in 1965. His first duty station was Great Lakes, Ill. Chaplin department, Special Assistant to the Rabbi Rickel and studied under him for 12 months, as well as service to other churches in the area. He was then transferred to Norfolk, Va. He joined the New Hope C.O.G.I.C. and became their first organist. He organized the first concert choir and conducted their first concert. New Hope Church was pastured by Bishop H.C. Clark. Bishop Clark was Bishop W.J. Jones’ personal mentor and friend. Bishop Jones remained a faithful loyal servant at New Hope until he was released from active duty in 1969. He served all of the churches without salary and was always happy to serve.
Bishop Jones has served in many capacities from church janitor to Senior Pastor. He now holds the title of Presiding Bishop and the National Executive Board Chairman for the Church of Christ Written In Heaven. (C.O.C.W.I.H). Some of his ministry includes, founder & pastor of Grace Church of Christ W.I.H., Pastor of the Historic Holy Cross Church of Christ W.I.H., NJ State Diocese Bishop of the C.O.C.W.I.H., past President of the National Y.P.C.W. of C.O.C.W.I.H., International Foreign Missions Bishop of C.O.C.W.I.H., past president of The Concerned Pastors and Ministers of Trenton & Vicinity, organizer of the “United In Mission” Rally held at the “Water Front Park” in 1996, Delegate for President Clinton’s Summit for America’s Future in 1997 and completed several overseas mission trips, past President of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance Of Mercer County (IMA) and led citywide march for the Churches Against Violence in 2005. His radio ministry has a 50 minutes broadcast every Sunday and Tuesday over the radio station of W.I.M.G. and over the internet connection to thousands more which are not from this area. His television ministry is taped every Tuesday night and aired every Sunday morning at 9:00 am on Comcast television channel 190. He feeds the Homeless every 2nd Sunday and is in partnership with Farmers Against Hunger where food from various farmers are donated and distributed to the needed every Thursday afternoon. He has served in the ministry and the community for over 50 years.
